About the Event

Automate is the largest solutions-based showcase of automation technologies in North America. Formerly the International Robots, Vision & Motion Control Show which dates back to 1977, Automate now demonstrates the full spectrum of automation technologies and solutions for a broad array of industries. The show is held once every two years.

Right at the front of Automate, companies that provide integration of automation, robotics and machine vision will show actual demonstrations of systems. This will allow attendees to see live demos solving challenges they face in their industry, and also to learn from solutions used in other industries that may be beneficial to them. The rest of the show features the latest automation, robotic, vision and motion control technologies and systems on display from leading global suppliers.

A comprehensive educational conference accompanies the Automate show. Featuring a broad array of classes from beginner to advanced skill levels, the conference offers something for all attendees – they can take one class or four full days of training. Classes are taught by experienced industry professionals who understand the industry challenges our attendees face. Our conference has been consistently rated high-quality and high-value, delivering a training experience that is immediately worthwhile.

Other highlights include:

Expert Huddles: Each day, you can join an expert huddle discussion happening in locations throughout the show floor. Topics will cover a variety of important issues and each 50 minute discussion will be led by an industry leading “quarterback”. A full schedule of the free huddles is available here.

Certified Vision Professional Program: Part of the conference offering – attendees can take classes and an exam or just the exam (for those with experience) to become a Certified Vision Professional – Basic or Advanced level. This career building certification helps individuals demonstrate their specialized knowledge and helps companies gain trust in their team’s abilities.

Automate Networking Dinner & Blues Bash: Held the Tuesday night of the show, this fun, networking evening will be held at the legendary Chicago blues club, Buddy Guy’s Legends. A ticket is required and includes dinner, drinks and a live blues band. Open to registered Automate attendees and exhibitors.

Vision Standards Demonstrations: The International Vision Standards booth (#1126) contains hardware demonstrations of all of the major vision standards and offers a great opportunity to talk to experts about these standards. On Wednesday and Thursday, at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM, we will be hosting live demonstrations to describe the technology behind these standards.

Co-located with ProMatCo-location with ProMat: Your Automate 2013 badge also gets you into the ProMat Show located just across the corridor in the South Hall. ProMat is North America’s premier material handling and logistics show.
